Lithuanian police secure site where drone debris was discovered
Lithuanian Military Police secured a site near Pratkūnai where debris from a drone, found near the Kaunas Reservoir, was recovered.
The proximity of the incident to Lithuania’s borders with Belarus and Kaliningrad underscores ongoing regional security concerns amid heightened vigilance regarding potential military activities.
“Our priority is to determine the origins and intentions behind the drone,” stated a representative from the Lithuanian Military Police regarding the incident near Pratkūnai.

Lithuanian Military Police secured a site near Pratkūnai on Tuesday, where debris from a drone shot down overnight was found.
Video shows officers cordoning off the area and inspecting pieces of the drone scattered across the ground. The debris was found near the Kaunas Reservoir, around 100 kilometres west of Vilnius.
Authorities are investigating the incident, while the drone’s origin and purpose have not yet been established.
Drones have repeatedly loomed over the skies of Lithuania, which shares borders with Belarus, a key ally of Moscow, and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
