KSI apologises for racist slur in Sidemen YouTube video
KSI, real name is Olajide William Olatunji, has issued an apology for using a racist slur during a recent Sidemen video. The 29-year-old rapper, boxer, and founder of Prime energy drinks participated in a game based on the word game Countdown, where he used the derogatory term. His fellow players were seen laughing at the comment. The video was subsequently taken down from the Sidemen YouTube channel.
DJ Bobby Friction was among those who expressed outrage over the incident, citing his own experiences of being subjected to racial slurs and physical abuse as a child. KSI took to social media to apologise for his actions, stating that there was no excuse for his use of the term and acknowledging that he has been messing up lately. He also stated that he will be taking a break from social media for a while.
This is not the first time that KSI has had to apologise for his language. In 2021, he issued an apology for using a transphobic slur during a live stream. In both cases, his use of derogatory language was met with widespread criticism, with many calling for him to be held accountable for his actions.
