The family of Nancy Guthrie – the missing mother of US TV anchor Savannah Guthrie – who has not been seen for seven weeks, have renewed their appeal for public help.
In a statement issued to coincide with a special report on local TV station KVOA, they asked people in and around Tucson, Arizona, where 84 year-old lives, not to forget her case, saying they “hold the key to finding resolution”.
Her daughter, who co-anchors the morning programme on Sky’s US partner network, NBC, has led the campaign to find her and was one of the signatories of the statement, along with her siblings, Annie and Camron.
The family said someone in the community could have “information that they do not even realise is significant. No detail is too small. It may be the key”.
Thanking locals “for the outpouring from neighbours, friends and the people of Tucson”, they added: “We are all family now.”
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on 1 February, after she failed to appear at church. She was last seen at her home near the city at around 9.45pm the previous evening.
Authorities believe she was kidnapped, or otherwise taken against her will and said last month that her family are not being investigated.
The family asked people to focus on the “key timelines” of 31 January and 1 February, saying any footage, journal notes, text messages, observations and conversations may offer evidence or clues.
Detectives have also focused on 11 January, asking neighbours for any security camera footage from that morning, without explaining why, NBC said.
Some of Nancy Guthrie’s blood was also found on the porch and investigators believe she was the victim of a targeted crime, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said.
The Guthrie family has offered $1m (£749,000) for her recovery, while the FBI, which is helping in the search, is also offering a $50,000 (£37,000) reward.
The FBI had previously released doorbell camera images and videos of an armed and masked man outside Ms Guthrie’s house on the morning she disappeared.
“We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder,” the family said in their statement aired on Saturday night.
“Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life.
“But we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest. Thank you for continuing to pray without ceasing.”
